AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE TO ADOPT AMENDMENTS TO THE PIKES PEAK REGIONAL BUILDING CODEWHEREAS, the Town's building code is administered by the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department, and WHEREAS, the Pikes Peak Regional Building Code has been previously adopted by reference as the building code of the Town of Palmer Lake, and WHEREAS, the Pikes Peak Regional Building Code has recently been revised and WHEREAS, the Palmer Lake Board of Trustees deems it to be in the public interest that the Town's building code be uniform with the most current edition of the Pikes Peak Regional Building Code and declares an emergency; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF PALMER LAKE, EL PASO COUNTY, COLORADO. AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The amendments to the 1999 Pikes Peak Regional Building Code, as published by the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department and attached hereto as Exhibit 1, are hereby adopted. Section 2. The Town of Palmer Lake determines that an emergency exists and that the fees set forth in this ordinance should take effect immediately upon passage Section 3. Severability. It is hereby declared to be the intention of the Board of Trustees of the Town of Palmer Lake, Colorado that the sentences, clauses and phrases of this ordinance are severable, and if any sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid by the valid judgment or decree of Court of competent jurisdiction, such unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect any of the remaining sentences, clauses or phrases of this ordinance since the same would have been enacted by the Board of Trustees without the incorporation of any unconstitutional or invalid sentence, clause or phrase. Section 4. Publication and Effective Date. The Town Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and cause notice of its contents and passage to be published or posted.
