ITEM #4 Request for a minor change to a PUD - Fire Line Extension - Kurt Ehrhardt

Kurt Ehrhardt - Asking to extend fire line down HWY 105 to supply fire protection to the Inn @ Palmer Divide.

  • And would eventually like extend the line to the east end of town.
  • Town of Palmer Lake would receive H20 credits
  • Inn would pay for all the H20 flushed

Steve Orcutt/Plant Operator - Wanted to explain the town does not receive credits for flushing water into the sewer. If the Inn was allowed to extend the fire line it would become a maintenance nightmare, not to mention serious health issues.

Gary Coleman - 411 S. HWY 105 - Concerns about taking down more trees in order to extend the fire line.

Chairperson Bristol recommended to Mr. Ehrhardt to take the plans to the fire marshal. The fire marshal may not require that a sprinkler system be put in the building. Or maybe design a building that does not need a sprinkler system.

COMMISSIONER HARRIS MADE A MOTION TO DENY THE MINOR CHANGE TO A PUD - INN AT PALMER DIVIDE- TO EXTEND THE FIRE LINE FROM MTI, SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER TROMBLEY. MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
