The Palmer Lake Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Trombley at 6:00 p.m. in the Palmer Lake Town Hall.

ITEM # 2: Comments by Commissioners, Staff or Public on items not on the agenda

ITEM # 3: Approval of Minutes – September 17, 2008

Commissioner Cooper made a motion to approve the minutes from September 17, 2008, seconded by Commissioner Martin.  Motion carries unanimously.

ITEM # 7: Request for a Vacation and Replat –  Chuck Pyle & Roger Ward
71053-07-004 & 71053-07-014

Commissioner Solheim made a motion to recommend to Town Council the approval of the Vacation and Replat  of 97 Hillside (71053-07-004 & 71053-07-014) SECONDED by Commissioner Martin.  Motion carries unanimously.

ITEM #8: Proposed Dark Sky Ordinance

Commissioner Martin made a motion to table the Dark Sky Ordinance until the next scheduled meeting (December or January) seconded by Commissioner Solheim.  Motion carries unanimously.

ITEM# 10:  Adjourn

Commissioner Martin made a motion to adjourn at 7:00pm seconded by Commissioner Solheim.  Motion carries unanimously.

ITEM # 2: Comments by Commissioners, Staff or Public on items not on the agenda

ITEM # 3: Approval of Minutes – August 13, 2008

Commissioner Cooper made a motion to approve the minutes from august 13, 2008, seconded by Commissioner Martin.  Motion carries unanimously.

ITEM #4: Request for a Sign Permit – PINZ-Bowling Alley – Gloria McCartan

Concerns from Planning Commission are that the background is to bright.

Commissioner Stern made a motion to table the request for PINZ Bowling Alley until such time that the applicant can play with the brightness of the sign seconded by Commissioner Cooper.  Motion carries unanimously.

ITEM# 5: Request for a Vacation Street, Right of Way & Easement – Vacation of Alameda Ave
David Wilson & Richard Kile – Betty Craig/Walker

Mr. Wilson and Mr. Kile are requesting that the inbuilt portion of Alameda be vacated.  With the vacation there will be enough room to make a cul-de-sac for the Fire Department to turn around.

Commissioner Martin made a motion to recommend to Town Council the approval of the Vacation Street, right of Way & Easement for Alameda Ave seconded by Commissioner Cooper.  Motion carries unanimously.

ITEM #6: Request for a Vacation Street, Right of Way & Easement – Vacation for portions of Clio and El Moro                            Tom Day (Bob Nance, Cindy Powell, John Drew, Jeff Houchin & Carrie Block)

Commissioner Martin made a motion to recommend to Town Council the approval of the Vacation Street, right of Way & Easement for Clio and El Moro Ave seconded by Commissioner Stern.  Motion carries unanimously.

ITEM # 7: Request for a Vacation and Replat – Morgan’s Meadow – Tom Day
Lots 1-4, Block 27, Glen Park, Palmer Lake together with vacated part of El Moro adjacent to & west of said lot 4

Commissioner Martin made a motion to recommend to Town Council the approval of the Vacation and Replat of Lots 1-4, Block 27, Glen PARK SECONDED by Commissioner Cooper.  Motion carries unanimously.

ITEM #8: Proposed Dark Sky Ordinance

Planning Commission is working on Dark Sky Ordinance

ITEM# 9: Vacancy for Planning Commission – Bob Kirby

Commissioner Martin made a motion to recommend to Town Council the appointment of Bob Kirby to fill the Planning Commission Vacancy seconded by Commissioner Stern.  Motion carries unanimously.

ITEM# 10:  Adjourn

Commissioner Martin made a motion to adjourn at 7:30pm seconded by Commissioner Stern.  Motion carries unanimously.
